Software SCgamelink Cheating Condemned

15. Jan. 2023 SCGameLink is an application designed to enhance the turret control capabilities in the game Star Citizen. It allows a single player to remotely control multiple turrets simultaneously on their ship from the pilot seat. Videos on YouTube show it being used to effectively man three turrets on a ship by one player alone, significantly increasing firepower. However, some players argue that this amounts to a form of cheating, as it removes the need for additional crew members and gives a major advantage over other players.

Now we got a clear statement about whether SCGameLink is allowed; It is not.

While you can have multiple accounts and run them on different PCs: it is forbidden to „Use cheats, automation software (bots), hacks, mods or any other unauthorized third party software designed to modify the Game experience and/or give you an advantage over other players”, as detailed in our EULA.

Full Podcast Episode 03 Content

Welcome to another episode of Citizen‐History Recap, exploring the dynamic universe of Star Citizen. This is the 3rd episode from Friday, January 19, ’24. After a packed episode last week, we still have a variety of topics to cover.

  • In Arena Commander, questions arise about the difference between Duo Showdown and Duel. Duo Showdown is 2 vs 2 dogfighting, while Duel is a 1 vs 1 setting, set to activate on January 21. There’s also „Kill Collector,” a 12‐player elimination mode detailed on the comm‐link.

  • In updates, the Master Mode UI is rumored to get a facelift in the imminent 3.23 release.

  • Shifting gears, let’s discuss acronyms: EPTU and PTU. EPTU is the Experimental Public Test Universe, providing a first look at new features before updates hit the PTU or „Public Test Universe.” Successful hotfixes from EPTU may be applied directly to „LIVE” servers.

  • Now, onto „SC – gamelink.” Using unauthorized software like this for in‐game advantage is strictly forbidden, against the End User License Agreement.

  • Regarding weapon grouping, future changes aim to make them persistently save, promising a positive shift.

  • Community discussions cover topics from the fate of auto aim and ESP with Master Modes to hover bikes’ health pool. The developers are active on Spectrum, monitoring changes closely, and discussing improvements.

  • A Replication Layer Test went well, with ongoing discussions about gunplay, emphasizing the defensive nature of sliding mechanics.

  • Quick reminders: The „In Case You Missed It” Sale for last year’s introduced ships is ongoing, and the new „Siege of Orison” build on EPTU aims for weekend testing.

That wraps up another Week of Star Citizen History dev recap.
